Golden Valley was one among many cities charged by the Metropolitan Council's IMAGINE 2050 housing plan to present back to Met Council their plans for more housing by 2050.
This postcard was sent to all residents of Golden Valley. Only 80 residents responded of the 9,000+ residents.
Emailed to the City Council: The "survey" results were then compiled into a complete sham "data" set shared HERE. A high school civics student would call this a leading and biased survey. Are you willing to publicly defend and stand by this fraudulent data?
When asked to prove why the results were invalid, I did my research so you don't have to! Click the thumb's down to read or click HERE.
A Request for Proposal (RFP) for a city rezoning study is a formal public document a municipality uses to invite urban planning, consulting, or engineering firms to bid on conducting a specialized study to analyze, update, or rewrite local zoning laws. HERE is that RFP.
ALSO, in reading the Q+A document gathering questions from potential bidding firms and the Commissions's answers, reads as follows (and here is the link from your website of the full set of Q+A's):
Q: Is this report intended to serve as a foundation for future policy-making?
GV answer: Yes.
This is the final study that the Golden Valley City Council accepted despite widespread lack of support from the citizens who voted for them.
These are ideas to get us to the Met Council's charge for more housing WITHOUT completely rezoning our city and removing R1 single-famly housing whereas developers can ravage our city with apartment buildings. We need to get to 1,800 more housing units by 2050...we can do it! This was out into an Ai robot to help with planning beyond citizen reach.
Letter sent to City Council and Planning Commission
Golden Valley has a reputation as one of the highest-turnout communities in Minnesota, and Minnesota already has one of the highest voter participation rates in the U.S.
